South Camden Water & Sewer has released its 2025 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report, giving residents a snapshot of water quality, testing results, and monitoring issues from the past year.

The report applies to South Camden Water & Sewer, Water System Number NC0415015.

The report says drinking water, including bottled water, may contain small amounts of some contaminants, and that the presence of contaminants does not necessarily mean water poses a health risk.

It also includes information about lead in drinking water. According to the report, lead can cause serious health problems, especially for pregnant women and young children. The report says lead in drinking water is primarily from materials and components associated with service lines and home plumbing.

South Camden Water & Sewer says residents concerned about lead in their water may contact the utility for more information.

The report also states that the system received monitoring-related violations involving lead and copper sampling. According to the public notice section, the system did not monitor, test, or complete all required monitoring during the specified compliance period and therefore could not be sure of the drinking water quality during that time.

The report says the system received a violation for lead and copper notification related to sampling from the first six months of 2025. It also says the violation was returned to compliance on Nov. 25, 2025, after submission to ECERT.

The report says there is nothing residents need to do at this time.

For lead and copper tap sampling, the report lists Jan.–June 2025 and July–Dec. 2025 results. For the July–Dec. 2025 lead sample period, the report lists a 90th percentile result of 50 parts per billion, with three sites found above the action level.

The report lists the lead action level as 15 parts per billion.

For residents, the key point is simple: read the report, know your household plumbing risk, and contact South Camden Water & Sewer if you have questions about your service line, testing, or water quality.

The report lists PJ McCoy with South Camden Water & Sewer as the contact for questions about the report or water concerns at 252-335-1216.
